UV Stability

A finish's resistance to fading and degradation under ultraviolet sunlight.

UV stability is how well a finish holds its colour and integrity under sunlight. Australia's high UV is hard on coatings; architectural powder coats are engineered for UV stability so the colour holds for years.

It is why a sublimated woodgrain keeps its tone far longer than oiled or stained timber, which bleaches within a season or two on exposed elevations.
