AS 1530.1 is the Australian Standard test method used to determine whether a material is combustible or non-combustible. A material that passes is deemed non-combustible for the purposes of the National Construction Code.
Aluminium is non-combustible to AS 1530.1, which is why solid aluminium cladding and battens are specified where combustible external walls are restricted.
