FAQ

Fire, Bushfire and Compliance

Combustibility, BAL ratings and how the products fit compliant builds.

Is woodgrain aluminium fire-rated?
The aluminium substrate is non-combustible when tested to AS 1530.1. Overall fire performance depends on the complete wall system and its detailing.
Can I use it in a bushfire-prone area?
The non-combustible substrate suits bushfire-prone land. Final BAL compliance is assessed on the whole building element, and we can help with suitable detailing.
Is it suitable for apartments and commercial buildings?
Yes. Solid, non-combustible aluminium helps satisfy the National Construction Code's external wall requirements for higher building classes.
Can you provide documentation for my certifier?
We can supply product specifications and information to support your fire engineer and certifier.
