About Woodgrain Aluminium

The basics of what woodgrain aluminium is and how it behaves.

What is woodgrain aluminium?
It is aluminium cladding, battens or linings finished with a sublimated timber-look pattern baked into a powder coat. You get the appearance of natural timber on a non-combustible, dimensionally stable metal.
Does it really look like timber?
Yes. The grain is heat-transferred into the finish at high resolution, so at normal viewing distances it reads convincingly as natural timber.
Will the finish peel or chip off?
The grain is sublimated into the coating rather than painted on top, so it resists peeling and chipping far better than printed or wrapped finishes.
Is it the same as composite panel?
No. Our products are solid aluminium with no combustible core, unlike aluminium composite panels that use a bonded core material.
