The approach
We specified woodgrain aluminium battens in our Western Red Cedar finish - rich reddish-brown with soft, straight grain. Batten screens to a contemporary infill delivered the warmth of timber while keeping the build low-maintenance and suited to the local climate.
The Western Red Cedar look is architectural battens, feature walls and entries - which made it a natural fit for this heritage-adjacent infill.
The result
A finished project with a genuine timber aesthetic that needs no oiling or repainting.
