Eaves are a known weak point in bushfire. Here is why non-combustible aluminium soffit linings are a smart choice on bushfire-prone land.

Why eaves are vulnerable

In a bushfire, embers collect in sheltered spots - and eaves and soffits are prime targets. Gaps and combustible linings overhead can let embers into the roof space, one of the most common ways homes are lost.

Non-combustible overhead

Aluminium soffit linings are non-combustible to AS 1530.1, removing a source of fuel at this critical junction and supporting the construction requirements that apply at higher BAL ratings.

Seal the gaps

Linings should be detailed to close gaps where embers could enter. Good soffit detailing is as important as the material itself in a bushfire-resilient design.

Looks good, performs hard

You still get the warm timber look under the eaves - it just happens to be doing serious work for your home's bushfire resilience.
