ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel)

A panel of two aluminium skins bonded to a core; fire risk depends on the core.

Aluminium composite panel is two thin aluminium skins bonded to a core. Where the core is polyethylene the panel can carry significant combustible content; fire-retardant and mineral cores perform far better.

ACP achieves large flat sheet faces economically, but the category now triggers careful scrutiny from certifiers and insurers. Solid aluminium avoids the core question entirely.
