What Aluminium Privacy Screens Cost in Australia
Made-to-measure screens are priced on size, framing and fixing, plus whether you need a matching gate. Here is what shapes a screen quote in AUD.
Indicative pricing
Quoted in AUD against your drawings — the rate moves with finish, profile, quantity, fixing system and site access. We don’t publish a single headline rate because it would mislead.
How screens are priced
Privacy screens are quoted as fabricated panels: the area, the batten spacing, the frame, and the posts or fixings to mount them. Made-to-measure work means the price reflects your exact openings rather than a stock size.
Gates and posts add up
A matching gate, heavy-duty posts for tall screens, or fixing into difficult substrates all add to the figure. A simple wall-mounted panel is the cheapest; a free-standing tall screen with a gate is more.
Why they outlast timber screens
Aluminium screens keep their gap, colour and rigidity where timber screens bow and grey within a few seasons. On a coastal or fire-prone block, that durability is the whole reason they cost more and are worth it.
Getting an accurate quote
Send the openings or boundary lengths, the heights you need, and whether a gate is involved. We will quote the fabricated screens and any posts and gates in AUD.
What drives the price
Finish
Solid-colour powder coat sits at the lower end; a sublimated woodgrain finish carries a premium for the timber look. Darker and specialty grains can cost a little more than mainstream tones.
Profile and size
Board width, batten section and panel size change the metres of material and the fixing density. Wider boards can cover faster; closer batten spacing uses more metal per square metre.
Quantity
Like most building products, the AUD-per-square-metre rate eases as the job gets bigger. A single feature wall carries more setup cost per metre than a whole-house facade.
Fixing system
Concealed-fix systems cost more in componentry and labour than face-fixed, but give the clean, fastener-free look most architectural projects want.
Site and access
Two-storey work, scaffold, difficult access and complex setout add labour. A simple single-storey wall is the cheapest scenario.
Freight
Aluminium is light, but long boards and battens still need careful, sometimes palletised freight - more of a factor for regional and remote sites.
Cost questions
- How is a made-to-measure screen priced?
- On the fabricated panel area, the batten spacing, the framing, and the posts or fixings. Gates and tall free-standing screens add to the figure. We price your exact openings in AUD.
- Is a matching gate a big extra?
- It is an additional line, but a common one. A gate in the same finish keeps the boundary reading as one continuous run; we will quote it alongside the screens.
- Are they more expensive than timber screens?
- Upfront yes, but they hold their shape and colour far longer outdoors, so the long-term value is stronger, especially near the coast.
