Not all timber-look cladding is equal. Ask these questions before you commit to a supplier.
Is the substrate solid and non-combustible?
Ask whether it is solid aluminium or a composite with a core. Solid, non-combustible aluminium avoids the issues that affected some composite panels.
How is the woodgrain applied?
Sublimated finishes that bond the grain into the coating outlast painted or wrapped finishes that can chip or peel.
What is the maintenance regime?
A genuine timber-look aluminium should need nothing more than an occasional wash - no oiling, no repainting.
Is it suitable for my BAL or building class?
If you are on bushfire-prone land or building multi-res, confirm how the product fits a compliant system.
What finishes and profiles are available?
A good range lets you match the look and the application, from boards to battens to soffit linings.
Can I see a sample and a quote in AUD?
Always view a physical sample in your own light and get a written quote against your actual areas before deciding.
